In an American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor Class, you learn how to effectively teach life-saving skills such as CPR, AED use, and first aid—based on the most current AHA guidelines. The course is designed not just to teach you what to teach, but how to teach it. It prepares you to confidently lead classes, evaluate students, and manage the logistics of conducting courses. First Hope offers two types of instructor classes — Basic Life Support (BLS) and Heartsaver (HS). Each specializing in a different area of emergency care.

How to become an Instructor

Becoming an American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor involves a step-by-step process that ensures you’re fully trained and authorized to teach life-saving courses. Here’s a clear guide on how to become an AHA Instructor.
Certificate Earned

Class Completion Card

Upon successful completion of all class requirements, you will receive an instructor card. Certificates are issued through the American Heart Association (AHA) and are valid for 2 years.
